Matawalle to construct 147 primary healthcare centres in Zamfara

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has approved the construction of 147 50-bed cottage hospitals across the state.

The governor made the disclosure when he paid Sallah homage to the Sarkin Qayan Maradun in his Palace immediately after the Eid prayer, as contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on media, Zailani Bappa.

Mr Matawalle further disclosed that all the 147 hospitals would be provided with a Tricycle Ambulance each to ease the transportation of patients in and out of the hospitals.

According to the governor, the decision to construct these hospitals and to provide the ambulances is to bring healthcare closer to the remote areas and also serve as an avenue of networking health services in the state.

“The decision to work on this project is also to ensure that we fulfil our promises to the electorates that our administration will be people-oriented and not self-serving,” Mr Matawalle explained.
