Unjustice and the oppression of the vigilantees in the Northwest an obstacle to ending banditry in the region
One of the reasons for the failure to put an end to the militant activities in the northwest is the injustice and oppression of some vigilantes on unarmed Fulani civilians.
What some vigilantes are doing to the Fulani is not less than what the militants are doing to the community, the only difference is the name they are given.
The fact that there are so many Fulani among the militants does not mean that all Fulani are gunmen, as we have explained that being a part of the Muslim community in Boko Haram does not make every Muslim a terrorist.
Authorities need to step up their efforts. If new members of the militant group are to be prevented from occurring, justice must be done to the people without discrimination.
There is no way the Fulani will be killed and their cattle will be taken away thinking that they will not be incited to join their wild people who are killing people in the name of revenge.
Early in the morning, I saw a video on Bint Hijazi facebook page in which a Fulani man was fighting against oppression. He instigated them to do what they were, why not make the vigilante system work and remove the barracks from them for peace in the north ?
