Tanzanian investors will no longer need Visas or work permit to establish businesses in Kenya- Uhuru Kenyatta
President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta has announced a special immunity for investors from neighboring country, Tanzania. According to him, investors from Tanzanian will no longer be required to acquire and submit visas or work permits before establishing their businesses in Kenya.
The President made such unity driven statement during Kenya-Tanzania business forum which was held in Nairobi and attended by Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and a host of businessmen and women.

“We would like to see many investors from Tanzania coming to do business in Kenya. And I want to say this, Tanzanian investors are free to come and do business in Kenya without being required to have business visas or work permits,” Kenyatta said.
According to him, Kenya’s doors are opened as long these business investors adhere to the existing laws and regulations. “The only thing you will be required to do is to follow the laid down regulations and the laws,” he added.
In response, the visiting Tanzanian President, Samia Suluhu Hassan advised investors from her country to take advantage of Kenya’s technology. She further proposed a business partnership between investors from the two neighboring countries for a collective growth.
“There is an opportunity for Tanzania to leverage on Kenya’s technology. I urge Kenyan and Tanzanian investors to establish partnerships. Real development is realized when we develop together. The private sector is key in driving economic growth; Tanzania is highly committed to seeing a vibrant private sector capable of facing the challenges of the global economy through our industrialization drive.” President Suluhu said.
Kenyatta revealed that the two countries have a history of a good relationship. “Kenya and Tanzania enjoy cordial relations going back to our pre-independence days.” He said, adding that, “the prosperity for our two countries hinges on creating a conducive business environment and growing mutually beneficial trade.”
