GAMBIA:HAILSTONES  IN URR FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY'S RAINFALL

During the heavy downpour in the Upper River Region on Wednesday evening, some locals in the region have witnessed hailstones ( iced water from the clouds). The rain which started some minutes after 7pm with heavy windstorm have been a historic moment for many in the region.

It appears that most of the people have experienced such natural phenomena for the first time in their lives. However, others in the communities acknowledged that this sometimes occur when it rains heavily, but for so long now it has not happened until this evening.

It has become a joyful moment for many children who picked up the hailstones to embrace the doings of God. Whilst others were drinking the mineral, some took photos of it to keep in their records.

Since the start of the 2021 rainy season in The Gambia in early June, the Upper River Region had experienced little rainfall and heavy windstorms which have resulted to too many destruction of homes, leaving many homeless and displaced. Farmers too are less optimistic ahead of this year’s farming season.

Have you ever witnessed such natural blessings? If Yes. When?
