FUDECO HONOURS 30 PASTORALISTS FULBE GIRL CHILDREN TO BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOLS IN ADAMAWA STATE.
Under the patronage of Chika Soro Adamawa, Hakimi of Yola, Alh. Mohammad Ahmad Mustafa, the Representative of the Lamido of Adamawa and other key stakeholders, FUDECO organised a first of its kind presentation and recognition of 30 pastoralists Fulbe girls and 20 parents (10 mothers & 10 fathers) to form part of an advocate programme for education in the State.
During the event at Lamido Zubairu Hall, Yola 29th Aug. 2021, the girls were presented with school equipments and books in the presence of their families. The enrolment is part of a wider advocacy project for the education of Fulbe children. The event comprised of speeches and presentation of the the girls.
The advocacy programme led by our Adamawa State Coordinator Jamila Hassan working in partnership with Bibbe Gaccungol Association (BIGAN), comprises of outreach to Fulbe communities, media outreach, outreach to education authorities and grassroots Fulbe organisations. The project came out of Jamila's taking part in FIMI's Global Leadership School after being linked up and recommended by the Chairman of FUDECO.
In attendance were education authorities such as SUBEB, Yerima Aliyu Mohammed Barkindo (son of the Lamido of Adamawa), and media heads of Go'otel, Pulaaku Radio and other outlets. Other guest of honour included:

The project is supported by FIMI (International Indigenous Women Forum) through its Ayni fund. FIMI is a global network of indigenous women advocating for indigenous women empowerment and leadership with headquarters in Latin America. "Ayni" is a word in Quechua language which means reciprocity, justice, equality and diversity.
