Dakar: Cellou Dalein Diallo supporters demonstrate against "the confiscation of their victory by Alpha Condé
Dozens of Guinean nationals demonstrate on Wednesday in front of the Guinean embassy in Dakar against the "confiscation" of their candidate Cellou Dalein Diallo's victory in the presidential election last Sunday.
These Guineans, presented as close to the leader of the UFDG, began to flock to the 1 p.m. blows in front of the premises of the diplomatic representation of Guinea, on the VDN, to celebrate and claim the victory of their candidate.
They chanted "Cellou President", "Cellou President", "Cellou President"… The police forces, facing the demonstrators, took up positions between the supporters of Cellou Dalein and the premises of the embassy.
Their candidate, the main opponent of the outgoing president, Alpha Condé, did not wait for the results of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) to announce his presidential victory in the first round of the ballot.
