South-East Governors Sympathise With Victims Of ENSARS Violence, Sue For Peace

The South-east Governors rose from a marathon meeting and consoled all the victims of the violence following the ENDSARS protests.

The south-east leaders pledged to encourage the youths to embrace sustainable peace snd a glorious future.

In a communique read by the chairman of the Governors Forum, Gov Dave Umahi, each state will set up a trust fund to assist the victims including the army, police and civilians.

The state governors pledged commitment to addressing the concerns of our young people that are peculiar to their state and to engage their colleagues and the federal government in.addressing other problems.

We therefore direct all Igbo’s both within and outside Nigeria to go about their business and should not part I pate in any unlawful protests.

We pledge to protect all ethnic groups in the south-east and encourage their colleagues in other states to protect our people in their respective State.

In attendance were the Governors of Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi states, as well as the representatives of the govs of Anambra and Imo state.

Some National Assembly members and clerics including Ike Ekweremadu, Rochas Okorocha, Okey Nwodo, among others were also in attendance.
