Philanthropist Donates 3.25 Hectares Of Land To Al-Noor Mosque In Abuja

An Abuja-based businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Baba-Kusa, has donated a 3.25-hectare piece of land to Al-Noor Masjid in Abuja.

The Al-Noor Masjid is under the management of the International Centre for Islamic Culture and Education (ICICE).

Baba-Kusa said he donated the property for the sake of the Almighty Allah and his commitment to the advancement of Islam and the Muslim community in the FCT and the country at large.

He formally presented the legal documents of the land to the chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the centre, Prof. Ibrahim Sulaiman, at the site in company of some other officials.

“We decided to give half of the entire land housing the Al-Noor Mosque to the International Centre for Islamic Culture and Education (ICICE) for the benefit of the Muslim ummah,” Baba-Kusa said.

He expressed optimism that the centre would continue to be a reference point and platform for the propagation of Islam.

The Director-General of the ICICE, Dr Kabir Kabo Usman, said the centre, with support from the Islamic Development Bank and public private partnership, built offices and residential shops.

“This will enable us to have our vision fulfilled by establishing Al-Noor University in Abuja.”

He assured that the centre would continue to initiate quality educational and humanitarian programmes to help the needy, widows and orphans and conduct medical outreach to improve the health condition of the poor and destitute.

Also, Prof. Sulaiman, who commended Baba-Kusa for donating the land and building for the sake of Allah, urged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate him.
