Video:Ghana as the regional council of Fulani chiefs paid a courtesy call to the Hon Regional minister Hon Alhassan Shani shaibu in his office
Today has been a step ahead in history for the fulani community in the northern region of Ghana as the regional council of Fulani chiefs paid a courtesy call to the Hon Regional minister Hon Alhassan Shani shaibu in his office.
The regional council was led by its chairman, fulani chief of Tamale and the regional secretary to the council.
This is first in history as the fulani community has made such a move.
Hon Regional minister and his office warmly received us well and he was very happy to see us.
The visit was very simple but a lot was discussed, we were there to congratulate the Hon minister on his appointment as the head of the region interns of governance and also the head of security council in the region.
As we congratulated him, we took the opportunity of the visit to lay down just 2 issues confronting the fulani community in the region.
We touched on security issues which includes farmer and herder conflicts and destruction of properties, people taking the laws into their hands etc
Lastly we spoke about unemployment issues and pleaded with the Hon Regional minister to remember the community incase there is some slot of employment for our youth in the community.
The council has proposed to the minister to help us form committees in various districts to forsee this farmer and herders misunderstandings.
And we say Alhamdulilah, his Hon minister has assured us to solidly work hand in hand with the regional council leadership to help bring peace in the region and soon after MMDCEs has been appointed the proposed committees shall be set up.
Thanks to all those that made this visit a possible one.
Signed under my hand
