The unexpected candidacy of Cellou Dallein Diallo creates concerns within the movement
Apparently, Elhadj Cellou Dallein Diallo’s candidacy for the presidential election on October 18 came as a surprise to RPG-Arc-En Ciel executives and activists. Since the announcement of the participation of the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea (UFDG) in the presidential election, concerns have reigned among some executives and activists of the ruling party.
Taking into account the commitment of activists and the constant electorate of the main opposition party, these members of the movement believe that the candidacy of Cellou Dallein Diallo should not be minimized and that the strategies of support for their candidate, President Alpha Condé.
Already through social networks, one can read messages calling for the strengthening of strategies within the RPG Arc-En-Ciel so as not to be eclipsed by the UFDG. While some movement activists, focusing on an electoral file that would be favorable to the re-election of the current head of state, minimize the victory of the UFDG, others on the other hand fear it greatly.
It should be noted, beyond the candidacy that most frightened and impressed the militants of the ruling party, it is above all the campaign budget allocated by the UFDG (more than 27 billion Guinean francs) that causes enough worries.
It should also be remembered, in the 2010 presidential election, Elhadj Cellou Dallein Daillo came in first with 39.72% against Alpha Condé who collected 20.67%, or shall we say that there ‘ was knocked out in 2015?
