The National Fullah Progressive Union(FPU) Held a Very Successful National Delegates Conference in Freetown

A remarkable History was made  on the 27th of March 2021 at the serene environment of Bank Complex Kingtom in Freetown as the Fullah Progressive Union(FPU) hosted and staged a very successful National Delegates Conference which attracted hundreds of delegates from the Four Corners of Sierra Leone and even beyond as every district was represented and delegates from the diaspora were also in attendance 

The National Delegates Conference is a platform where the reviewed Constitution of the FPU is endorsed and the Work Plan of the FPU be presented, discussed, debated and endorsed by all delegates present which should constitute Fifty Five percent of the overall delegates 

The Event attracted Fullah Stakeholders from all Walks of Life including notable personalities like the Honorable Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, the Western Area Fulah Chief Almamy Alhaji Mohamed Sajor Jalloh, the leader of the main opposition in Parliament Honorable Chernor Maju Bah alias Chericoco, the Deputy Minister of Water Resources Mrs Nematulai Bah-Chan, the Deputy Chairman of the Ruling Party SLPP Alhaji Umaru Dumbuya and a host of other dignitaries including Fullah Chiefs from across the Country, Members of Parliaments, FPU district Chairmen, Youth's Leaders, Women's Leaders, Diaspora representatives, etc

In his Welcome address, the FPU Vice President Alhaji Mohamed Mamadu Bailor Barrie expressed unflinching gratitude to all delegates Present and assured them of a very interesting and successful Program

The Chairman of the occasion Dr Abdulai Wallon Jalloh who is a Senior Lecturer at Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone in his opening remarks calls for the need for Unity and Tolerance within the Fullahs of Sierra Leone and emphasized on the need to invest in Education as it is the ultimate catalyst for change and progress

The FPU Executive represnted by Mr Hassmieu Barrie who is the Education Secretary gave a comprehensive work plan of the FPU stressing on Education as the flagship Program and the Education Committee have developed a scholarship Scheme that will benefit thousands of Students in Sierra Leone 
The Financial Secretary Of the FPU Mr Abdul Razak Bah gave a comprehensive Financial report of the FPU in the past year citing expenditures of over One Billion Leones in undertaking different projects and financing the running of the FPU Office 

In his powerful Statement, the FPU President Alhaji Umaru Sanu Barrie gave a comprehensive report on the successes and challenges of the Executive since he assumed the Presidency 
He highlighted the Major gains they have made and the plans they have to take the FPU to a bigger and better level 
He officially launched the Membership Card of the FPU and announced that the cards will be available at all districts for Sale in the different categories of prices 
He urged all Fullahs of Sierra Leone to endeavour to purchase the card and play their own part towards the development of the pulaaku in Sierra Leone

In his Keynote address, the Honorable Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh expressed his appreciation to the FPU Executive for a Job well done and manifested that he is proud of all the achievements they have made so far
He calls on the Fullahs of Sierra Leone to embrace Unity and Support the Government of Sierra Leone in the development of all Sectors of the Country 
He appealed for the inclusion of Women and Girls in all the spheres as they play a significant role in development 
He assured all that his door is always open for developmental Initiatives and he will use his office in any way possible to the achievements of those Goals

The Leader of the Opposition Honorable Chernor Maju Bah in his statement calls for Unity and implored those who have the financial capacity to spend their wealth towards changing Lives and creating the desired impact

The Fula Chief of the Western Area Alhaji Almamy Mohamed Sajor Jalloh calls for Unity and the empowerment of Women and Youth. He assured all of his continuous support towards the development of the FPU

Other notable personalities representing the Women and Diaspora made touching statements that calls for Women's Empowerment and Solving emerging problems of Women

The Program was climaxed with the phase two wherein the draft Constitution was Officially endorsed by all delegates
