Hon Khadijah, bags traditional title in Damaturu Emirate Council
The Emir of Damaturu, HRH Alhaji (Dr) Shehu Ashemi II Ibn Umar Al-Amin El-Kanemi has conferred a traditional title of "NANA KINGI" of Damaturu Emirate Council to Honourable Khadijah Bukar Abba Ibrahim member Representing Damaturu, Gujba, Gulani and Tarmuwa Federal Constituency.
The Emir of Damaturu announced the conferment of the new traditional title on Hon Khadija in a letter dated 25th November, 2020. "I have the honour and pleasure to inform you that, after due consultations with the Emirate Council Members, approval has been granted to confer the traditional title of NANA KINGI of Damaturu Emirate on you with immediate effect.
"This follows the realization of your contributions and support to the Emirate, which encourage it to reciprocate by honoring you in this way.
"By this conferment you are vested with all the powers, immunities and privileges of a title holder in the Emirate.
Hon Khadija, while receiving the title in Abuja thanked His Royal Hightness, the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji (Dr.) Shehu Ashemi II Ibn Umar Al-Amin El-Kanemi, for his role in the promotion of peace, traditional values, stability, and unity in the state.
“I am expressing my profound appreciation to His Royal Hightness and the Damaturu Emirate Council for the traditional title bestowed on me, the NANA KINGI. I thank you all from the depth of my heart for this honour,” she said.
