El-Rufa’i Warns Kaduna Communities Against Shielding Criminals
El-Rufa’i gave the warning on Wednesday when he visited the Chief of Kagoro, at his palace in Kaura Local Government Area, to condole with him over the recent attacks in the area.
He said it was of great concern how communities shielded criminals living amongst them, stating that there are criminals in every ethnic group and in every religion.
According to him, peace can only be achieved if communities respect constituted authority and report criminals to the security agencies.
He tasked the traditional institutions to do more in living up to their responsibility of providing leadership.
Earlier, the Sector Seven Commandant of Operation Safe Haven, Col. Timothy Opurum and Kafanchan Area Commandant of the Nigeria Police, Danladi Ibrahim briefed the governor on the issues of insecurity bedeviling the area and how the youths were hijacking the leadership of the community instead of the constituted authority.
In his remarks, the Chief of Kagoro, Mr Ufuwai Bonet, thanked the state government for its show of concern since the latest incident occurred.
