EIGHT UDP MPS EXPELLED FOR SHIFTING THEIR LOYALTY TO PRESIDENT ADAMA BARROW; UDP SPOKESMAN ALMAMI TAAL ACCUSES THE EXPELLED MPS OF NOT SHOWING UP IN UDP MEETINGS!
The United Democratic Party (UDP) has expelled eight of the party’s members in the National Assembly. The expelled MPS have been accused of shifting their allegiance and loyalty to President Adama Barrow. The dispelled lawmakers have been identified as: Fatoumatta Jawara, Alagie Jawara, Billay Tunkara, Abdoulie Ceesay, Saikouba Jarju, Saikou Marong, Baba Galleh Jallow and Omar Darboe.
“Even in the National Assembly, if a given MP absents him or herself from proceedings, he or she would be disciplined by the house,” Faal remarked.
Taal had also questioned the loyalty of the expelled MPS. He said the expelled MPS were obsessed with getting money from Barrow at the expense of the party. he also said the expelled MPS were concerned about their own personal interest and that of Adama Barrow and not the interest of the UDP party, which had facilitated their presence in the National Assembly.
In view of the above, he said, the party had written to the MPS, informing them that they have been expelled from the UDP political party.
