Terrorists’ Arms Supplier Arrested With 991 Rounds Of AK-47 Ammunition In Zamfara

The police in Zamfara State have arrested one Fatima Lawali who specialized in supplying arms and ammunition to bandits in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, Katsina and Niger States.

The operation was carried out by Police Tactical Team from FIB/STS Force Headquarters Abuja, headed by DSP Hussaini Gimba.

The suspect, according to a statement sent to DAILY NIGERIAN on Friday, was arrested at Gada Biyu area in Bungudu Local Government 991 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition.

She was conveying the ammunition from Dabagi Village in Sokoto State for delivery to a notorious bandit’s kingpin called Ado Aliero who has been terrorizing Zamfara and neighbouring states.

The police also announced the arrest of one Babuga Abubakar of Mayana in Gusau for collaborating with notorious bandits.

“The suspect [Babuga Abubakar] was arrested in Gusau based on intelligence, that he has been collaborating with notorious bandits such as Lawali Na’eka ‘M’ a ring leader operating in Maradun LGA and Almeriya ‘M’ a notorious bandit’s kingpin operating in Bungudu. Upon interrogation, suspect confessed that prior to his arrest by the Police, himself, Lawali Na’eka and Almeriya conspired and went to Wanke village in Gusau LGA with over one hundred (100) operational motorcycles where they rustled over two hundred and forty (240) cows belonging to different individuals. Suspect is undergoing discreet investigation,” said a statement by the Zamfara commissioner of police, Ayuba Elkanah.
