Celebration of the Magal of Touba 2021

The Magal de Touba, Senegal's largest religious event, will indeed be celebrated this year despite the presence of the coronavirus pandemic. The event will take place on September 26, 2021.

Many of the Senegalese living and working abroad are Mourides and people travelled to Touba from New York, Paris and Rome, as well as the capital, Dakar, 200km (125 miles) west of the holy city.

As usual, the Grand Magal de Touba will be celebrated this year. The Mouride community reiterates its commitment to pay tribute to the founder of Mouridism Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacké.

Millions of Mourid talibés are expected in the city of Touba on September 26, for this 127th edition.

Due to the pandemic, the organizing committee invites the faithful to respect the measures decreed by the health authorities.
