Tabitaal Pulaaku International Ghana Chapter said the arrest of 5 rubbers who attacked a bullion Van at Fomena and made away with GHS500,000 has vindicated the recent release by the association.
According to the Organizer of the group Mr Ahmed Barry, the recent robberies including the attack on the bullion Van, Aseseeso robbery attack that led to the death of the ambulance driver Mr Abraham Tetteh, were attributed to Fulanis but the arrest made so revealed the truth.
"The 5 persons currently in police custody according to the Ashanti Regional police command are 29-year-old Bismarck Owusu Ansah, 23-year-old Azuma Titus, 24-year-old Kofi Mathew , 30-year-old Kwadwo Agyapong and 26-year-old Martin Tei, none of them is Fulani" he stated.
"The police command says the suspected leader of the gang, a 22-year-old Senior High School graduate, John Appiah also known as Omega, he not also a Fulani" he added.
Mr Ahmed said COP Akwasi Mensah Duku Ashanti Regional Police Commander, briefing the media revealed that, the suspected leader John Appiah, in collaboration with Martin Tei, one of the suspects who have been arrested were involved in the ambulance robbery attack that led to the death of the driver of the ambulance at Aseseeso in the Eastern Region but the media reportage point fingers on Fulanis.
He said though there are bad nuts among them, they are ready to flush them out through the police assistance to erase this bad name about Fulanis.
"We are ready to work with both the media and all the security agencies especially the police to hand over every criminal to be dealt with according to the law because we are making our people to understand the negative impact of attributing our name to every crime in the country" he revealed.
Further appealed to members to volunteer information to the police to help cripple these perpetrators.
