Voice Magazine awards First Lady African Woman of the year

First Lady Fatoumata Bah-Barrow is among reputable international medium The Voice Magazine’s Achievers Award for the year 2021. Madam Barrow received the African woman of the year.
According to the First Lady’s official Facebook Page, the award is in honor of her unrivaled contribution to the country’s development through her foundation FABB, which has been involved in activities aimed at addressing issues that affect the majority of the population, particularly health care for women, children, the elderly, and people with physical disabilities.
The citation for the award stated: “Through her office and foundation, several health care workers received overseas training as well as treating patients with delicate cases free of charge. The First Lady is spearheading efforts – to see a continent free of the menace of plastics through advocacy and awareness across the Sub-West African region in the global fight against the rating parts of plastic – as Chair of the Region for West Africa by the African Union Commission to lead efforts in ensuring a pollution-free Africa.
It is in this regard the award committee of The Voice Achievers Award for 2021 has agreed to recognise and confer ton the The First Lady of the Republic of The Gambia as the African Woman of the year 2021”.
