UK: War crimes investigation against British mercenaries

British police announced on Monday the opening of an investigation against "Keenie Meenie Services" (KMS), a private military company.  The latter, founded by former members of the British Army's Special Forces (SAS), was tasked during the 1980s with training the Sri Lankan police against the separatist Tamil rebellion.

 Thus, this an elite unit of the Sri Lankan Police (STF) was accused of having summarily executed rebels of the Tamil Tigers and killed Tamil civilians, hence the investigation opened to find out the degree of involvement.  British mercenaries.

"We categorically deny accusations that David Walker and employees of KMS Limited were complicit in war crimes in Sri Lanka in the mid-1980s," said the representative of one of the founders of KMS.
