Togo: 12 Nigerian cybercriminals imprisoned by the gendarmerie
The Togolese security and order forces are fully in the fight against crime in all its forms. On April 14, the Togolese gendarmerie carried out a major fishery. 12 individuals, all of Nigerian nationality, residing in Adidogomé, were arrested for fraud and blackmail.
This operation was possible following information obtained by the Lomé Gendarmerie Antigang Brigade. The defendants whose ages between 21 and 35 years rented a villa they transformed the living room into a cybercafé.
They use computers and phones configured with a VPN tool, IP address simulators and FAKE GPS using fictitious administrator accounts as well as fake identities to reach their targets, especially girls.
These scammers first put their victims in confidence by making fantastic promises by obtaining in return photos of their nudities. With these photos, they are asking them for money or else they will be published
