THERE WAS AN ATTEMPT TO BURGLE THE RESIDENCE OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF - PRESIDENCY

The presidency says there was an attempt to burgle the residence of Ibrahim Gambari, chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday.

This was disclosed by Presidential Spokesman, Shehu Garba, on Monday night.

Shehu revealed the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, was unsuccessful.

He said; “The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning “but it turned out to be unsuccessful.

“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.”

The attempted attack on the Chief of Staff’s residence comes amid rising insecurity in the Nation.

There have been unprecedented attacks on police formations, checkpoints, and correctional facilities in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria recently.

Recently, the country home of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodnma, was attacked, sparking tension across the State.
