Fulani Groups Call For Peaceful Coexistence In Southern Kaduna

Groups under the auspices of coalition of Fulbe associations in Kaduna State has called on all lovers of peace to come together and ensure the restoration of normalcy and lasting peace in Southern Kaduna and the state as a whole.
The group also called on indigenous ethnic groups in Southern Kaduna to emulate the giant strides led by the Fulbe towards better understanding of one another for the overall peaceful coexistence of the state.
Addressing a one-day peace summit to strengthen peaceful coexistence between warring parties in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the chairman of the Organising committee of the summit, Alhaji Ahmad Mairiga Yande, said what informed the decision of the associations to come together under one umbrella and organize the summit was for them to extend their hands of friendship to all lovers of peace to come together, and restore normalcy and lasting peace in Southern Kaduna.
Alhaji Yande expressed hope that the result of the peaceful coexistence would be replicated so that soonest, the people shall attain the much desired peace, social justice and economic empowerment by adopting the Rwandan style.
In an address at the summit, the Vice Chairman, Kaduna State Peace Commission, Barrister Pricilla Ankut, commended the organizers of the peace summit for their efforts geared towards peaceful coexistence in Southern Kaduna and Kaduna state.
Represented by the Permanent Comissioner of the commission, Hajiya Khadija Gambo, Barrister Pricilla Ankut stressed the need for people irrespective of their differences to learn to live together in spite of the challenges they may face.
In their remarks, the Chairmen of the summit, Alhaji Salihu Musa Umar and Dr Sale B Momale, expressed joy over the level of understanding reached as a result of the summits and meetings taking place after the crises that bedeviled the area.
According to them, all parties involved have reason to agree that, people from all warring sides have lost their lives, homes, properties and cattles and steps must be taken to all arrive at a point of understanding for the overall development of the area.
The summit according to them, would be a good time to discuss issues of common interest that will determine the resetting of people that fled their homes and are prepared to return.
Earlier in his address, the Agwatyap, His Royal Highness, Sir Dominic Yahaya, reitereted his readiness to receive and give support to any group or organization that is initiating innovations geared towards peaceful coexistence.
He observed that continuous meetings and summits on peace would actualize lasting peace among the people and commended the organizers of the summit and urged them to sustain the tempo.
Also speaking, the Chairman Zangon Kataf Local Government council Honourable, Elias Manza, said if the people want meaningful development, the should be prepared to live peacefully with one another irrespective of any difference.
Represented by the council secretary, Mr Elisha Sako, he observed that peace can only be achieved if the people involved agreed to live together owing to the fact that nobody can forced them to.
