Fear God, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi tells leaders

Aprominent Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has urged politicians and religious leaders across the country to fear Allah and ensure justice and fairness to all their followers irrespective of their tribes or religions.

He spoke in Abuja at the launch of Sheik Dahiru Bauchi biography and video documentary titled ‘Lisanul Faidha (Voice of Islam)’. organised by the Arewa Next Step for Tinubu (ANEST) and Blue Bells Promoters.

According to Sheik Bauchi, who is the leader of Tijjaniya Islamic Movement, in Nigeria, “The Almighty Allah has commanded all leaders from family level to districts head, local governments, right to the president to be just, transparent and treat their subjects equally to ensure sustainable peace.”

He also urged clerics to promote peace and religious tolerance among their followers.

He asked the youth to seek knowledge since education plays vital roles in the development of individuals and the society.

Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari urged the youth to emulate the virtues of Sheik Bauchi, especially his principles and devotion to Islam.

Masari, represented by his Special Adviser on Higher Education, Muhammad Bashir, said the cleric is as an epitome of knowledge especially in the Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

Head, Centre for Defence Studies and Documentation (CDSD), Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Prof. Usman Tar, urged the nation’s leaders to cultivate moral substances, especially the fear of Allah and deep consciousness on the dangers of material obsession and self-centredness.

Prof. Tar, who spoke on the challenges of leadership in a complex setting, urged leaders to abide by ethical codes like honesty, sincerity, empathy and mercy for fellow human beings, especially the vulnerable ones in the society.

Director-General, ANEST, Mallam Musa Usman, said the organisation picked interest “in getting involved with the launch of the biography on Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi because a former Lagos State Governor, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, who inspired them, shares a lot in common with the cleric, especially in areas of mentorship and philanthropist.
