Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has been linked with a move to English Championship club Queens Park Rangers (QPR) and Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.
This is according to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
Nwabali, who currently plays for South African Premier Soccer League, Chippa United, as their first-choice goalkeeper, was one of the revelations at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.
Despite making his competitive debut for the Eagles against Equatorial Guinea, Nwabali went on to keep four straight clean sheets.
Also, in the semi-final win against South Africa, he made two waves to help Jose Peseiro’s side reach the final, where they lost 2-1 to Côte d’Ivoire.
Several South African fans reportedly warned him not to return to his club after the AFCON, as his role in Super Eagles reaching the finals is thought to have angered them.
His impressive performance has drawn interests from clubs in and out of Africa.
In a post via Facebook on Sunday morning, Romano disclosed that QPR and Saudi Arabia side Al Ettifaq had enquired about the 27-year-old shot stopper.
“Nigeria GK Stanley Nwabali, on the list of different clubs as Al Ettifaq in Saudi and Queens Park Rangers in UK have enquired about him.
“His South African club Chippa United will consider his future move in the next months,” the football transfer expert wrote.
