The First Lady, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has called on Nigerians to be more patriotic and prayerful, to ensure lasting peace and sustainable development of the country.
The first lady expressed her views on Monday after performing two raka’at congregational prayer, led by the Secretary Missioner of the Ansaruddeen Mosque, Imam Anofi Dhikrullahi, in Abuja.
She appealed Nigerians to always show a true sense of patriotism to ensure that Nigeria attained greatness for which it was destined.
The presiding Imam Dhikrullahi, in his sermon, enjoined Muslims to uphold the lessons of Ramadan.
”The lessons of love, sacrifice, sharing and forgiveness.
”You should continue to live in peace and harmony with your neighbours, encourage peaceful coexistence among yourselves and build a better society,” he said.
Mr Dhikrullah used the period to pray for the President and his family.
He also prayed to almighty God to continue guiding the Nigerian leaders in the discharge of their responsiblities, especially, as the 2023 general elections were drawing nearer.
The Sallah Celebration is imperative as it marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
