Demonstration of support: The Guineans of Dakar fill the Place de la Nation (photos)
At the call of Senegal's living forces, thousands of people demonstrated this Friday, October 30, 2020, in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, neighboring Guinea.
Called a peaceful march of support for the people of Guinea, this great mobilization is at the initiative of the African Meeting for the Defense of Human Rights (Raddho), the Platform of non-state actors, the Y en a marre Movement, Frapp France Dégage - Senegalese Social Forum - Afrikajom Center - Collective of Civil Society Organizations for the Elections.
These movements and organizations of Senegalese civil society accuse President Alpha Condé of being responsible for the situation in which Guinea is plunged. At least 20 people have been killed in Guinea since the day after the presidential election. Even if calm is gradually returning to the country, there are risks of a resurgence of violence.
Today's protest ended with a rally at Place de la Nation.
