Constitution Review: Ban Ex-govs from contesting NASS elections -Arewa Youths Group

A group, Arewa Youth and Women Awareness for Democracy FCT chapter and Arewa Youth Movement, Bauchi state chapter on Friday canvassed ban on former governors from seeking elective office into the National Assembly after leaving office.
The group also sought for constitutional backing for local government autonomy, saying it is panacea to grassroots development in Nigeria.
Chairman of the group, Comrade Umar Maudo made the position of the youths known while speaking at the National Public Hearing on the review of the 1999 constitution.
He said the group in its memorandum is demanding for constitutional provisions for enforcement of Trade Test Certification on three (3) areas; A- Grade i, B- Grade ii, C- Grade iii, saying it is equivalent to National Diploma ND and level six (6) in the labour market job cadre.
The memorandum also sought for the creation of National Nomadic Commission or Board (NNC or NNB) for impartment of quality knowledge to Fulani Cattle breeder’s in Nigeria.
“Proper Constitutional definition to all our Nigerian institutions syllabus to give entrepreneurship theories and practical a priority to reduce unemployment drastically”.
