REFLECTING ON MY 5-YEAR UNDERGRADUATE JOURNEY AT FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, KASHERE, GOMBE STATE, NIGERIA

As I look back on my five-year journey at Federal University, Kashere, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and accomplishment. These years have been transformative, filled with challenges, growth, and countless memorable experiences.

When I first arrived at Kashere, I was both excited and nervous, stepping into a new chapter of my life. The initial days were a whirlwind of orientations, meeting new friends, and adjusting to a new environment. But soon enough, Kashere became a second home, with its vibrant campus and welcoming community.

My time at Federal University, Kashere was marked by significant leadership roles and achievements. Serving as BIOSSA President in 2023/2024 and Vice President in 2022/2023 allowed me to make meaningful contributions to the student body. Additionally, my role as Vice President of the Akko Students' Union FUK from 2022 to 2024 provided me with invaluable experiences in student governance and community service.

I am proud to be among the pioneers of the B.Sc. Microbiology and one of the founders and pioneer executives of the Nigerian Association of Microbiology Students (NAMS). Organizing the first edition of Microbiology Day in FUK was a highlight, as it brought together students and the department to celebrate our discipline.

Throughout these years, I had the privilege of connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, religions, and mindsets. These interactions enriched my perspective and fostered a deeper appreciation for diversity and inclusion. Representing my department in various capacities and being awarded among the 20 most influential Presidents during my tenure as BIOSSA President were honors that I hold dear.

The journey was rigorous yet rewarding, with dedicated faculty members playing a crucial role in shaping my academic and professional aspirations. The diverse curriculum broadened my understanding of my field and instilled in me a thirst for knowledge. Late-night study sessions, group projects, and the thrill of acing exams are memories I will always cherish.

Beyond academics, my involvement in extracurricular activities and student organizations helped me develop essential skills. Leadership, communication, and teamwork were honed through these experiences, preparing me for future challenges.

As I prepare to graduate, I carry with me a wealth of knowledge, experiences, and memories that have shaped me into the person I am today. Federal University, Kashere has provided me with the tools and confidence to step into the future with optimism and determination.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this journey; my lecturers, friends, family, and the entire FUKashere community. Thank you for the support, guidance, and opportunities that have made these five years unforgettable.

Here's to new beginnings and continued growth!
