Jubilation in Taraba as soldiers kill notorious gang leader

There was jubilation in the southern part of Taraba state on Wednesday following the news of the killing of the Benue most wanted warlord, Terwase Kwaza alias Gana by soldiers.
Youths, women, and the elders took to the streets of Takum, Wukari, and Donga local government areas dancing and singing to celebrate the killing of Gana who along with his gang have been terrorising the people of the area for the past five months.
The Nation gathered that shortly after the news of the death of Gana filtered into Takum town on Wednesday morning, the Youths of Takum in their large numbers took to the streets on their motorcycles jubilating and chanting war songs to celebrate the killing of Gana.
It was also gathered that the jubilation in Takum was not different from that in Wukari and Donga local government areas where women and youths came to the streets with leaves and buckets of water singing and dancing to celebrate the death of Gana who they alleged had rendered several women widows.
Mr. Jonathan Agyu, one of the youth leaders in Takum told our correspondent in a telephone interview that the killing of Gana calls for celebration by the people of the southern Taraba was many persons were killed by Gana and his gang.
The youth leader disclosed that over 500 persons were killed by Gana and his gang in the border areas between Benue and Taraba in Takum, Donga, and Wukari local government areas in the past seven years.
Angyu noted that the death of Gana will bring the most desired peace in the border areas between Benue and Taraba that has been under security threats for the past seven years.
Mallam Danladi Usman, an elder statesman from Wukari local government also said the killing of Gana calls for celebration, adding that many families have lost their breadwinners to the activities of Gana and his men in the Southern Taraba.
He commended the military for killing Gana whom, according to Usman has been committing sins against humanity.
It could be recalled that Terwase Akwaza (alias) Gana who has been on the wanted list of security agents was killed by the military between Katsina-Ala and Makurdi on Tuesday.
