36 states, FCT to get trade units – FG
The 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory are to get trade desks that will help in facilitating the businesses of non-oil investors in the states, the Federal Government has said.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, disclosed this at the quarterly dinner meeting for top 20 non-oil exporting companies in Lagos.
In his speech at the meeting, which was made available to our correspondent in Abuja on Sunday by his ministry, Adebayo said the trade desks would help collate the challenges faced by investors to address the concerns.
He said, “Currently, steps are being taken to establish state trade facilitation desks across the 36 states and the FCT to capture challenges encountered by our investors and businesses in the states to resolve them promptly.”
The minister noted that the realities of today’s challenges demanded that operators in the non-oil export sector accelerated their efforts on further driving the establishment of Special Economic Zones and associated plans such as the one-state one product initiative. (Punch)
