With Winston McKennie, Juve already replaces Matuidi
Expected at Juventus for several days, the young Weston McKennie has finally signed with the Turin club.
Weston McKennie is a new Juventus player. The midfielder, 22 years old since August 28, is the first American to join the Piedmont club, which announced the news via a statement released this Saturday evening on its official website. “Juventus Football Club SpA announces that an agreement has been reached with FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 for the acquisition, on a provisional basis until June 30, 2021, of the registration rights of footballer Weston McKennie for an amount of 4, 5 million euros ”, we can read.

We also discover that the agreement provides: “The obligation of Juventus to acquire the sporting performance of the player definitively after having achieved certain sporting objectives by the end of the 2020/2021 season (…) agreed for the definitive acquisition, in both cases, is equal to 18.5 million euros payable in three fiscal years ”. Juve are also citing performance bonuses of no more than € 7million. So it’s a paying loan for new coach Andrea Pirlo’s first summer signing who arrives to digitally replace Blaise Matuidi, who has joined MLS and Inter Miami.
