"Herdsmen planned in the meeting they held at Yola to capture me alive" Ortom Reveals
The governor of Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom has narrated what happened to him on his way to his farm at Gboko, where he alleged that he was attacked by armed herdsmen who came after his life.
In the details he gave, he made it known that be was attacked on Gboko Highway, around 11am today and that, the Fulani herdsmen who attacked his convoy were up to 15 in number, as they were all putting on black clothes. He said that when they started shooting at them, his security operatives were able to counter the attack and due to that, the herdsmen retreated and fled inside the bush, as he ordered operatives to surround the bush where they fled to.
He further said that he was not surprised about the attack because, he received a first hand information that, herders held a meeting in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, where they singled him out on the basis that they will capture him alive and eliminate him because, he is becoming threat to their herding business. He further said that they discussed to kill all his security operatives and capture him alive and if they are successful, they will start killing him gradually.
After this, he said that he has filed a legal case against the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, because he believes that they are behind the attack.
