THE FALLEN OF A NATIONALIST, MENTOR AND VOICE OF THE VOICELESS PEOPLE.
Though, I don't know the exact date of birth of Alhaji Sale Bayari (Bauran Wase) as a traditionally titled to him by H R.H Dr. Alhaji Muhammadu Haruna Sambo III of Wase emirate in 2018 during an annual festival called #Nyalde_Pulaaku (Pulaaku day) organised by the Wase Fulani Consultative Forum on Western Education to promote and Preserved Pulaaku (code of conduct of the Fulani) which comprises unique and special attributes of Fulbe among which are shyness, humbleness, dignity, patience, bravery, perseverance and etc.
Alhaji Sale Bayari, is a well known personality with high reputation among the Fulbe Communities in Nigeria especially in Plateau
State which happened to be his state of origin and where he schooled.
He sacrificed his entire life serving humanity, he had serve MACBAN and Kautal Hore at different capacities and had help in capacity building and reorienting Herders on the importance to seek knowledge from both sides. He later formed his Association in 2016 and named it "Gan Allah Fulani Development Association GAFDAN" which he served as the National President until his death.
In his effort to educate Fulbe, he organised a Da'awah committee with Sheikh Dr Ahmad Abubakar Gummi as the Chairman so as to educate herders across the nooks and crannies of the NW states, with more concentration in Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina and Sokoto.
Bayari, was a gentleman with high caliber of professionalism in handling leadership responsibilities, though in addressing issues with softhearted, simple, vocal, selfless and fearless giant Leader.
While I was the Publicity Officer II of National Association of Fulbe students Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2018 under the then Ardoship of Comrade Dauda Yau Aliyu, i was charged by the executive council of the Association to contact him so as to be our guest speaker in the program geared toward educating the public about the then bedeviling national Challenge and misconception of #Ranching.
Considering his status in the country as of then, I was naive and confused as to where can I start? and from whom should I get his contact? So, myopic idea came to me as to sent him a friend request on Facebook and when I accept, I should chat him up via a messenger so as to get his full details in how to write him a request for the program.
Luckily for me, he accepted my friend request and I started chatting him by formally and respectfully introducing myself and briefing him on why I sent him a request?
To my greatest surprised, Bayari asked for the date, time and concept to be discussed and after telling him, he said you don't need to suffered yourself to write me a later or to transport your self just for this simple thing? He requested for my patience as he will feed me back after checking his schedules.
While, I was anxiously waiting for his feedback...he replied me with a text message "your request has been accepted but however you should remind two days to the program. I was overwhelmed with simpleness and acceptance.
For the seek of his people and the topic coined to be discussed, he left a primary assignment given to him by the state Government to addressed some local issues in Bokkos to attend this gigantic program of ours.
With little time of closely working with him, I was appointed as the Youth Leader of GAFDAN, Bassa LGA, Plateau State by the Bassa chapter Chairman, Mallam Sule Woje on the 23rd January 2021, and was given full acceptance and recommendation by Bayari.
Bayari showed his gratitude to my acceptance of the responsibility given to me and also call for more appointments of Youths at all levels considering that youths are the backbone of every Nation.
Two days later, he called me on phone and demanded for my photograph and details for an ID card to which I gave him and still thanks me for accepting the offer.
Moreover, I was called by the deputy chairman on the 9th February 2021 that my ID card is ready and has being given to him by Bayari.
On the 11th February 2021, around 9 PM, I received a phone call from the deputy Chairman, Bassa LGA, Plateau State that Bayari is late. I was shocked, confused and saddened by that statement of his death. And I later received a text via his contact around 12:46AM that Sale Bayari is dead, surely every soul shall taste the bitterness of death.
