Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo looks set to join Rangers on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The Red Devils want to loan out the 19-year-old before the end of the January transfer window, and according to the Scottish Daily Express, the Ivorian could make a move to Ibrox.

The Ivory Coast international has only played for the Manchester United first team once this season and that came in last month’s Champions League dead rubber against Young Boys.

Aside from that solitary appearance, the former Atalanta youngster has only made the bench once in the Premier League, and his most recent involvement in a matchday squad came as an unused substitute, in the FA Cup against Aston Villa.

The reigning Scottish Premier League champions have stepped up their interest in the teenager following the news that Ianis Hagi will miss the rest of the campaign due to injury.

Amad was due to join Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s former side Feyenoord on a season-long loan in the summer, but the move fell through due to the left-footer picking up an injury at Carrington.

The youngster was omitted from Ivory Coast’s African Cup of Nations squad and the club desperately needs to find a suitable destination which will give him vital first team minutes at senior level.

Failure to have secured a loan move in the remaining days of the winter window could have seen Amad’s burgeoning potential stagnate.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the loan move is in its final stages.
