Guinea: Murder of Daouda Kanté in Pita: He received three bullets ...", says his sister
PITA-Daouda Kanté, coordinator of the national front for the defense of the constitution (FNDC) was killed on October 22, in Pita. Her family, who are still in complete dismay, are demanding justice. His wife whom we contacted could not testify, given her state of shock.
Reached on the phone the big sister of Daouda Kanté who spent the whole morning with him, talks about the painful circumstances in which his younger brother was killed.
“The day that coincided with his death, in the morning he accompanied me to the market. On our return, they called him to tell him that the "Haali Poular" coordination was going to his father-in-law (the Caliph General of Foutah) Elhadj Bano Bah. The objective was to ask the prefect to tell the soldiers to stop shooting at the population, ”says Barry Mariama Bobo Kanté.
With the resumption of warning shots, Mariama Bobo said she called her brother to tell him that the security forces were firing at their homes. “After a while, he calls me to say he's coming home. He came to the mosque here with an old man. That's what I was told. There was a lady who called him when he was near the house. The old man who was with him came in, returned to him. It was there that we shot him, ”adds our interlocutor.
“Before I got there I found that he died. But he received three bullets, it took place between 12 and 1 p.m. Witnesses say that he received the first bullet in his hand, wanting to flee, he found another agent in front of him who fired the other two bullets, ”maintains Mariama Bobo Kanté.
The family wants justice to be done. She accuses someone of being behind the murder of their son.
“We are calling for justice, we have said that it is a woman who is behind it all, but we cannot say it is such and such until we have reliable sources. Everyone knows that it was someone who indexed him, they even gave his photo to the soldiers to tell them that it is the FNDC coordinator in Pita, and that when they kill him Pita will be calm ” , reveals the victim's older sister.
Aged in his thirties, married barely two months, Daouda Kanté leaves behind a childless widow.
