Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet has resigned as the coach for The Gambia National Team.
The gaffer broke the news after the scorpions exited the 2023 AFCON at group stages following three defeats to Senegal, Guinea, and Cameroon.
Tom was signed in 2018 and became the first coach to qualify the Gambia to the AFCON in 2021 where they finished as quarter-finalists. He again qualified the team for a second successive AFCON in 2023 but couldn't replicate a similar performance as the team finished bottom of the group.
The search for a new coach starts. Should we go in for another foreign coach or give chance to a local coach?
