THE CHALLENGES OF WATER SCARCITY IN JADA COMMUNITY AND IT'S ENVIRONS

BY: Bamanga Jada

Today, Most Of Our Communities Are Encountering Water Scarcity Challenges, And Jada Community Is Not Excluded.

It's crystal clear and known to every indigene of Jada community that Jada metropolis, used to encounter serious challenges of water scarcity during the periods of December, January, February, March and April. And all efforts made by the people of Jada community to overcome this challenge of the water scarcity in the town from the authority concerned, proved abortive.

During the above mentioned periods, in Jada metropolis, 1 jerry-can of water is sold at the rate of N30 to N50, and this was when 1 litre of petrol was around N200. But now that 1 litre of petrol is sold at the rate of almost N700 on an official price by the government, 1 jerry-can of water is now sold at the rate of N100 by the water vendors in the town. If care is not taken, and if this challenge is not urgently addressed by the authority concerned, our people will continue to suffer, thereby buying 1 jerry-can of water around N150 in some weeks to come (God forbid).

A reliable source confirmed that the cost implication for the rehabilitation of Jada township water supply treatment plant (machine), that is located at Ma-Mbulo area, needs a very huge amount of money for the effective services of the machine, which includes the repair of the faulty machine, recharging of batteries, lubricating and fueling of the power supply, and also replacement of some old water pipes with new ones, for the distribution network of water from the source to the town.

It could be recalled that Hon. Adamu Jikan Sarki has recently embarked on the total rehabilitation of the Jada township water supply treatment plant, located at Ma-Mbulo area, when he was serving as the then Caretaker Committee Chairman of Jada Local Government Council, but the rehabilitation work did not progress, after his tenure in office elapsed.

We are hereby calling on the authority concerned, more especially, our patriotic indigenes of Jada community, who are influencials or at the echelon of power to please, come to the aid of the people of Jada community, and take part in the rehabilitation of Jada township water supply treatment plant, which is located at Ma-Mbulo area, OR influence in drilling of more solar energy motorized boreholes and local hand pumps to the people of Jada community, in order to cushion effects of the water scarcity in the town, and in neighboring communities.

It is said that he who give you water, gives you life, because water is life!

May God Almighty bless and reward any person or group of people, who key in measures of addressing these enormous challenges of the water scarcity in Jada metropolis and it's environs.
