GUNMEN ATTACK EMIR OF KAURA NAMODA, KILLS EIGHT MEMBERS OF HIS CONVOY
Emir of Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State Major Sanusi Muhammad Asha has loss at least 8 persons to an ambush on his convoy by some suspected gunmen along Zaria-Funtua highway on Thursday night.
This came nearly few hours after Zamfara State Government in collaboration with that of Katsina negotiated the release of 344 school children abducted by gunmen at Government Science Secondary School Kankara.
The Emir who was traveling back to Zamfara from Abuja midnight in convoy of his official vehicle and a Toyota Hilux did not sustain injury but loses eight occupants of the Toyota Hilux including the driver who were all shot dead by the gunmen.
It was reliably gathered that, among those killed in the attack were Dan Amal of Kaura who doubled as the father to the emir, Shinfidan Kaura, Sarkin Dogarai, one Facebook handler, three police men and the driver of the Toyota Hilux.
Our sources confirmed that the incident occurred midnight and the emir passed his night at Funtua police station while arrangement is being made to convey the bodies of those killed for burial.
