Buhari's Administration is laying a solid foundation for a digital Nigeria ~ Buhari Loyalists.
Under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria has embarked on an ambitious path towards the development of its ICT sector.
The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has said that the country is on the path of having credible, converged and consistent database for identification purposes.
The minister who was speaking recently at the Global Privacy Day Celebration 2021, in Abuja, said, “The current effort of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in encouraging Nigerians to register for the National Identity Number (NIN) is a strategic and critical national effort to ensure Nigerians have a credible, converged and consistent database for identity purposes.
The Minister explained that, It is very gratifying that Nigeria, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari approved the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) and our recommendation to re-designate the Federal Ministry of Communications to become Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
Pantami further said "The National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) have eight focus on developmental regulation; digital literacy and skills; soft infrastructure; service infrastructure; digital services development and promotion; soft infrastructure; digital society and emerging technologies; and indigenous content promotion and adoption.
He added “The value of this would become appreciated with the ease at which e-government services would be delivered, the reduction in crime and general efficiency guaranteed by the database. Identifying every Nigeria is a soft infrastructure needed to achieve our digital economy objective. Indeed, the needed pieces for the digital economy is falling in place and we are committed to laying a solid and lasting foundation for a digital Nigeria,”.

in a statement signed by its National Chairman, Mallam Ardo Zubairu in Abuja,
Thursday commended President Buhari for leading Nigeria through a transformation to the digital economy, described the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy as a “Sustainable Development ”.
His words "Our future prosperity will depend on the digital economy. But it can only reach its full potential if we are able to Support the government work together collectively with businesses, and entrepreneurs so they can survive and thrive, expand their depth into current markets and open doors for everyone into new ones as initiated by President Buhari."
"President Buhari digital economies are innovative and future-proof which will in turn open doors for our youth and sectors to benefit from these Presidential efforts." He concluded.
