Sanwo-Olu Honours Police  Assaulted by Traffic Violator

The Governor of Lagos State,  Mr Babajide Sanwoolu on  Monday 19th April 2021, honoured ASP Sunday Erhabor, attached to the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command, who was attacked, assaulted and injured by one Victor Ebhomenyen, m, 33, that drove against the traffic at Four Point Hotel, Oniru Victoria Island Lagos.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, who presented the officer to the Governor at the Governors Office, Alausa-Ikeja, showered encomium on the ASP Sunday for Professionalism, perseverance, self control and maturity exhibited during the attack on him. 

He was then presented a state plague as a mark of honour and prestige to appreciate his commitment to promoting core values of modern policing and protection of fundamental human rights.

The personnel of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) had encountered the suspect, Victor and his accomplice, one Etinosa Obaywana, m, now at large, while driving against the traffic at Four Point Hotel,  Oniru, Victoria Island Lagos State on 17th April, 2021, when the suspect attacked and assaulted the ASP repeatedly. He has been detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for proper investigation and possible prosecution, while his car, white Hyundai with Reg No. MUS 251 EH was impounded for necessary penalty in line with the provisions of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law,  2018.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, while appreciating the Governor and the good people of Lagos State for their love toward the police family in the state, assured the general public that Police personnel in Lagos State Police Command  will always emulate and exhibit high level of professionalism and perseverance even at the height of fierce provocation while on duty or off duty.
