GOVERNOR ORTOM OF BENUE STATE GENOCIDE ON THE INNOCENT 40 FULANI HERDERS.

GOVERNOR ORTOM OF BENUE STATE GENOCIDE ON THE INNOCENT 40 FULANI HERDERS.

PRESS RELEASE

GOVERNOR ORTOM OF BENUE STATE GENOCIDE ON THE INNOCENT 40 FULANI HERDERS.

Such ethnic profiling is harmful and should have  no place in our civilization. To comprehend the danger of Ortom’s anti-Fulani vitriol, we must always look back to the Jewish Holocaust, the Igbo pogrom and the horrors of Rwanda. It’s terrible that Ortom has issues with every Fulani in Benue state.

Ortom’s unprecedented remark against the Fulani implies that the Fulani ethnic group as a whole represents the herdsmen who have been involved in a fatal war with farmers in Benue state and that the Fulani have encouraged and approved of their criminal behaviour. This is untrue because I know many decent Fulani who are against the herder’s conflicts with farmers, with this governor Ortom is notorious for paintings an entire ethnic community with the same broad brush. as Ortom recently displayed, his actions is what has left in Benue is shambles and fostered unparalleled division among Benue people, which has now reached its height and using security aircraft in bombing the innocent herders because of their ethnicity.

The racial profiling practice has torn Benue apart and lowering the economic of the state.

Ortom ought to think back on Rwanda and how that country forded the bloody rivers that built and watered the path to Kigali. Hutu nationalists in the Rwandan capital of Kigali began the genocide in that country in 1994 through careless ethnic profiling. It began a genocide that swept throughout the nation with astonishing speed and cruelty as local and Hutu government officials incited common individuals to use force against their neighbours and this is the same strategy used by the governor of Benue state.

Extremist sections of Rwanda’s majority Hutu population, encouraged by misinformation from numerous media channels, planned to exterminate the minority Tutsi population and everyone who opposed their genocidal aims.  Is this the goal of Ortom’s ethnic profiling for Benue state?

The world typically doesn’t care when the going gets tough, and Ortom and those who are supporting him should be reminded of this. More than 40 herders and their cows starved to death as the world watched it in free mode, we will not let it go freely if the law will not take cause.  And after the genocide in Rwanda, lack of response was due to its wish to avoid getting engaged in a potentially dangerous operation for public relations that may harm the chances of future peace-building efforts.
The last seven years must have been the toughest one of any one who is Fulani ethnic stock in Benue state. To any casual and the victims of this genocide by the governor Ortom started since last 5 years years back, it have gotten certificate when  Governor Ortom implemented the law of anti open grazing in
Benue state.
The killing of innocent Fulani herders have not been a newly things in Benue state but at this point we can not keep mute and let it go free, the life of 40 people, law abiding citizen who are agreed and paid 29 millions of naira as fine to get their 1,250 cows free can not go freely like the gasses on space.
We demand an immediate investigation and prosecution from the federal government.
Justice to law abiding citizen,
Justice to Fulani nomads who were killed in Rukubi community, Ikye development area Doma local government of Nasarawa state.
