ACF Warns Northern Youths Against Plan To Attack Igbos In North

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has warned youths in the north to stop plan to stage reprisal attacks against Igbos and their business interests in the region.

The ACF stated this in a communique issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday in Kaduna.

According to online publication, Critical Voice, the ACF said it understood that the youths have been mobilising themselves on social media.

It urged them to desist from such “evil plan”, saying the forum stands against all lawless acts of self-help.

Yawe also faulted leaders in the country for utterances capable of causing regional, ethnic and religious divisions.

The forum, while expressing displeasure at the state of affairs in the north, condemned the killings of northerners in the South-east.

It called on security agencies to investigate the killings and fish out the culprits.

Warning against the retaliation, the ACF said: “We warn our youths who have suddenly started distributing messages on the social media calling on reprisal attacks on Ibos and their business interests in the north.

“We the Arewa Consultative Forum stand against all lawless acts of self help and call on all northern youths to stop such evil plans.”
